Expectations too High?
After allowing our son a day of some freedom with a friend he comes home with an attitude toward us. After gentle prompting 3-4 times to go shower and bed, I finally have to become more firm. With a response from him of "Geese dad, you expect me to be perfect". I of course replied that I didn't expect perfection, but some appreciation for the day would might be appropriate. Comments anyone? If you one is interested I can give a description of the kids day.

Sometimes telling them what you expect before the heat of the moment is a good idea. Having a conversation in the morning about how you expect things to go in the evening may help. Generally, teens are focused only on themselves and this can be disappointing. Doing service projects can help them be less selfish.
Hope that helps!
